World Vision to train some youth in kente weaving

Assin Foso (C/R), March 19, GNA- The Assin district office of the National Youth Council (NYC) in collaboration with the World Vision Ghana, is to train 25 youth groups in kente weaving in some selected communities in the Assin District.

Mr. Richard Asiedu, Assin District Youth Co-ordinator, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency atAssin Foso on Friday. He said some of the selected communities are Beraku, Amoabeng, Assin Foso, Achiaano, Nduaso and Akonfude all in the Assin District. Mr Asiedu said the three-month programme is to educate the unskilled youth to establish their own shops and also have access to poverty alleviation funds in their districts.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the government for approving 10 billion cedis for the youth fund.

Mr. Asiedu was optimistic that vocational training would go a long way to help the unskilled in the society, especially young ladies.
