Woman found dead in a passenger vehicle

Bawku (U/E), May 25, GNA - A woman, believed to be in her early forties, died in a passenger vehicle on its way from Burkina Faso to Ghana on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ama Nyarko by the tattoo on her left arm and hailed from Ashanti Akyem Wenchi in the Ashanti Region. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Bawku Chief Inspector Mohammed Osman, said Seidu Diallo, the driver of the vehicle with Burkinabe registration number told the police that the deceased boarded his vehicle at Putinga in Burkina Faso on Friday morning.

As soon as the vehicle crossed over from the Burkinabe side of the border and entered the Ghana at Kulungugu, the woman began to vomit blood.

The driver increased his speed with the hope to get to the Bawku Hospital but she died at the entrance of the hospital. He said the body was released to the Akan Community for burial.
