Winneba Youth in peace walk

Winneba (C/R), April 3, GNA - The President of Winneba Local Council of Churches, Pastor Francis Odoom has appealed to the people in Winneba to bury their differences and come together as one people towards the development of the Municipality. Pastor Odoom made the appeal when he addressed a large crowd after a two-and half hour peace walk in the Principal streets of the town.

The programme was organised jointly by Mr Joseph Yanney and Mrs Benita Dontoh in collaboration with the Municipal Assembly and sponsorship from MTN. Pastor Odoom urged the people to put aside their political and chieftaincy differences.

In her welcoming address, Mrs Dontoh said the area lacks behind development and urged the people to give peace chance to attract investors.

Mr Kofi Kussachin, Effutu Municipal Coordinating Director who deputized for the Municipal Chief Executive, Nii Ephraim urged the people to forget the past to enable investors to come to the area. Mr Kwesi Debby Mensah, Secretary to Winneba Peace Initiative urged the youth to move away from the chieftaincy disputes that had created divisions in the town. Mr Alex Afenyo Markin, Assembly Member for Kojo Bedu North Electoral Area urged politicians in the area to help bring unity to the area.
