Water shortage mar installation at Gomoa Lome

Gomoa Lome (C/R), Feb. 4, GNA - A Severe water shortage at Gomoa Lome in the Central Region marred the beauty of installation of the Obaatan and Odikro of the town as relatives and love ones supposed to witness the installation of Nana Adoko Okumaning IV and Nana Ayeredu III, did not turn up.

Nana Ayeredu who succeeded his uncle, who abdicated in 1992, explained that the people had to travel several kilometres to Gomoa Daworampong, Gomoah Nduem and Agona Swedru to fetch water. He said those who attended the installation did not stay long due to the problem and appealed to the Gomoa District Assembly and non-governmental organisations for assistance to prevent an epidemic. The Obaatan of the town, Nana Okumaning, appealed to the government to construct and tar the road linking the town to Gomoa Nduem to facilitate transportation.

He commended the government for connecting the town to the national grid

The Chief said school children would be banned from attending video shows, dances and concerts to improve the standard of education and asked parents to send their children especially the girl-child to school.
