Water project commences at child dev’t centre

Compassion International Ghana, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has performed a sod cutting ceremony for the provision of water for the Pokrom Nsaba-based Hope Child Development Centre, in the Eastern Region.

The NGO is an affiliated to the Resurrection Presbyterian Church at Pokrom Nsaba in the Akuapem South District.

Mr Samuel Okoampah, Project Facilitator, said the water project is meant to promote the health of the children at the Centre.

Mr Wilson Owusu Agyekum, Pastor and the founder of the Hope Child Development Centre in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the facility was established by the church in 2012 to support destitute children.

He said the academic facility takes care of the education of children from four years and above through primary to senior high school.

Mr Agyekum said the foundation is a day educational centre with pupils’ population of 252.

“The three years care of the children have brought significant developmental changes in their lifestyles,” Mr Agyekum said, and appealed to charitable organisations to support the centre.
