Wassa Fiase Tradional Council holds general meeting

The President of Wassa Fiase Traditional Council, Osagyefor Dr. Kwamena Enimil VI, has said the Great Asamankoman Royal family has resolved to end the long standing chieftaincy dispute in the family.

He said to climax the settlement the Paramountcy is planning a memorable reconciliation celebration.

Osagyefor Dr. Kwamena Enimil Osagyefor, who was speaking at the first general meeting of the Council at Tarkwa, recollected that during the last meeting of the council in April, 2013, he raised concerns about the sale and release of large scale of lands without his consent.

He appealed to the chiefs to ensure that he was given prior notice before the release or sale of any land exceeding 50 acres within the traditional area and directed his sub chiefs to submit their documents on their lands to the Wassa Fiase Customary Land Secretariat for processing.

He informed the Council that Mr. Robert Quansah, the former co-ordinator of Customary Land Secretariat, had been dismissed for embezzlement of funds.

Osagyefor Dr. Kwamena Enimil said the decision of the Council to build a filling station had not been abandoned and that the project would be completed as soon as possible.

Other issues discussed included the tenancy agreement and the approval of a training workshop on arbitration and settlement.

He nominated Nana Kwasi Akrosah II, Bontowarehene, Nana Akwasi Appiah I, Nyameteasehene, Nana Katakyere, Mansohene and Nana Kwamena Damoah III, Mampongsohene as additional to kingmakers to bring the number of kingmakers in the council to 13.

He commended the chiefs for their support and co-operation during the delays in the payment of royalties to the Traditional Council.
