Voltic Ghana sales team wins Gold Award

The Accra District Sales team of Ghana’s leading bottled mineral water producer, Voltic (GH) Limited (Voltic), has received a Gold Award from the SABMiller Africa Managing Director, Mark Bowman.

Voltic is a subsidiary of SABMiller Plc and the award is in recognition of the sales team’s fantastic work exhibited through the implementation of various sales techniques, which yielded a significant growth for the business in the 2014-2015 financial year.

The award ceremony was witnessed by more than 200 marketing, sales and distribution managers from 17 African countries that attended the Marketing, Sales and Distribution (MS&D) Conference held in Durban, South Africa.

The SABMiller Africa MS&D Conference is held annually to reward and recognise excellence amongst outstanding sales teams and align country teams with the annual brands development and sales strategies to drive ‘topline superior growth’ across the region.

The competition which was opened to all districts in SABMiller Africa in the complimentary beverages category, saw Ghana and Uganda shortlisted for the Gold award and Ghana emerging as the winner.

Commenting on the awards Mr David Dzomeku, District Sales Manager, said “working as a team and pursuing excellence in our in-trade sales execution and distribution activities guaranteed our emergence as the Gold Award recipient across the region and the best district among our peers in Ghana. My team and I are in high spirits to continue to deliver great performances into the future”.

Voltic (GH) Limited, since its establishment 20 years ago has maintained its market leadership position in the bottled mineral water sector becoming a generic name for bottled mineral water in Ghana.

The company became a subsidiary of SABMiller Plc.in 2009, leading to major upgrades of the facilities and further expansion of capacity translating into increased employment and development of the best talents. Voltic currently improves livelihoods through the direct employment of 438 permanent employees and more than 687 employees through its value chain.

The General Manager of Voltic (GH) Limited Mr Phil Redman said: “Voltic will continue to outperform the market by ensuring that the business is managed efficiently, effectively and in a way that unlocks the natural entrepreneurial culture of our people. Our position as a market leader and the gold award received by our Accra Sales team are confirmations of our achievement so far.”
