Ho, Dec. 29, GNA - The Volta Region recorded no major road accidents or criminal activities like robberies, burglaries or sex related case during the Christmas, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bernard Dery, Volta Regional Police Commander has said. He said four police divisions in the Region, however, recorded a total of 26 assault cases during the period.

The Ho, Keta, Tongu and Kete-Krachie divisions he said recorded 11 petty stealing cases, eight cases of threatening and three cases of acts of offensive conduct, one unlawful damage and one fraud case.

ACP Dery, who briefed the Ghana News Agency at Ho, attributed the incident- free celebration to "the around the clock vigilance of the police and other security agencies". He commended the media for its contribution in providing wide public education for peaceful celebration and urged security agencies and all advocates of law and order not to relent in their efforts to ensure that the peace witnessed during Christmas would be maintained during the New Year celebration.
