USAG congratulates President Mills

Kumasi, Jan. 9, GNA - The University Students Association of Ghana (USAG), has congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills on his election and inauguration as President of Ghana. A statement signed by Mr. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, President of USAG, wished him divine guidance and wisdom. It said the election of the President indicated the confidence Ghanaians had in him and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to govern the country.

The statement said the association pledged its support for President Mills and his government. It also congratulated all Members of Parliame nt (MP's) and Mrs. Joyce Bamford-Addo for her election as the first female Speaker of Parliament. The statement commended Ghanaians for comporting themselves during the 2008 polls even when the country's democracy was stretched to its breaking point, making Ghana a beacon in Africa and the world. It urged the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and other stakeholders to educate the public on topical issues to ensure national development.
