UDS to collaborate with Galilee College

Tamale, May 6, GNA - The University for Development Studies (UDS) is to collaborate with Galilee College in Israel to run academic, training and applied research programmes tenable in both Ghana and Israel.

The collaboration followed discussions held between the management of UDS and the President of Galilee College, Dr. Joseph Shevel, who visited the university in Tamale last Friday. Dr. Shevel's visit was upon the initiative of the UDS Council Chairman, Mr Daniel Charles Gyimah, who is also the Managing Director of the National Investment Bank (NIB).

This was contained in a statement signed by Professor Kaku Sagary Nokoe, Vice-Chancellor of the UDS and issued in Tamale on Tuesday. The statement said Dr. Shevel also interacted with the deans and some senior members of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the faculties of Agriculture and Integrated Development Studies on one-on-one basis in furtherance of the link. The statement said Dr. Shevel noted: "A university must develop international ties or be left behind", and he therefore proposed "togetherness for development".
