UDS dispatches 9,135 students for community service

The University for Development Studies (UDS), has dispatched 9,135 students to various communities in the Northern and Upper East Regions, to undertake community service as part of its 2016 Third Trimester Field Practical Programme (TTFPP).

The TTFPP, which is undertaken by first and second year students of UDS, is an interactive process that enables students and members of the communities to identify development problems and challenges to formulate specific interventions to overcome them.

This year’s TTFPP would end later this month.

Professor Seidu Al-hassan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of UDS, who addressed an orientation session for the students before their departure, advised them not to meddle in political activities or propagate political agenda in the communities.

He advised the students: “To be mindful of what you say and how you say it especially about issues like religion, chieftaincy, party politics and land.”

He urged the students to: “Hold yourselves as worthy ambassadors of our dear University and strive to be role models in your communities.”
