Two more accident victims discharged

Cape Coast, June 17, GNA- Two more victims of the accident, which occurred at Dompoase, on the Cape Coast-Takoradi road, last Thursday, were on Monday discharged from the Central Regional Hospital, where they had been receiving treatment. This brings to five, the number of victims, who have so far been discharged from the hospital since the accident. This was made known, when the Central and Western Regional Ministers, Nana Ato Arthur and Mr Anthony Amoah, jointly presented an amount of GH¢3,000.00 to the victims of the accident, currently on admission at the Central Regional Hospital. Mr Agyei Frimpong, the Hospital Administrator, told the Ministers that, another victim was also likely to be discharged in the evening. In all 33 passengers were admitted to the hospital, following the accident, which has so far claimed 17 lives, with 15 of them dying on the spot.

The amount, which was donated on behalf of the Central and Western Regional Coordinating Councils, was in fulfillment of a pledge made by the two Ministers during their visit to the hospital at the week-end. Mr Amoah called on other organizations and philanthropists to come to the aid of the victims, adding that, they could send their donations to the two coordinating councils. Nana Ato Arthur lauded the management of Coastal TV, a local television station, for donating food items, toiletries and detergents worth GH¢200.00 to the accident victims.
