Twenty-two schools to benefit from latrines

Nkoranza (B/A), July 29, GNA - The Nkoranza District Water and Sanitation Team (WATSAB), a World Bank sponsored programme, is to build latrines for 22 primary and junior secondary schools in the district. Mr. John Kwabena Nyameah, Head of the Team, told the GNA in an interview that some of the schools would be provided with a four-seat KVIP latrine, while others would have the six-seat ones.

The four-seat latrine would cost 20 million cedis each, while the six-seat type would cost 30 million cedis each.

Mr Nyameah said the communities in which the beneficiary school are located would pay five percent of the cost of the project, while the District Assembly would assist with five percent.

He called on the communities to pay their share of the cost promptly to enable work to begin.
