Torrential rains hits Wiomua and destroys property

Cape Coast July 13, GNA- Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District in the Central Region, has been hit by torrential rains, causing extensive damage to property valued at 300 million cedis.

The rain destroyed the palace of Odziasempa Kofi Dadzie VIII, chief of Abura Wiomua and 15 houses while over 100 people have been displaced. Odziasempa Dadzie, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, in Cape Coast on Monday, said some of the displaced people have been given temporary shelter by friends while some have taken refuge in classrooms.

He appealed to the District Assembly, the National Disaster Management Organisation and non-governmental organisations to come to the aid of the community.
