Toase Secondary records 100% pass in WASSCE

Toase (Ash), Dec 9, GNA 96 Toase Secondary School in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district recorded a 100 per cent pass in the 2006 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The school presented a total of 676 candidates and each of them took home a certificate with Master Kwame Wiredu emerging the best among them after scoring grade 91A' in six science subjects.

Mr. James Adjei Boateng, Headmaster of the school who disclosed these to the GNA at Toase, said even though the school is one of the most preferred schools in Ashanti, lack of adequate dormitories for students was a major source of concern to the school authorities. He said the school, which was woefully handicapped with masters' bungalows was now relieved following the completion of nine bungalows financed by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and would be commissioned shortly.

Mr Boateng also announced that the school authorities and the PTA had embarked on an expansion of classrooms and a three-storey building was under construction.

He said the PTA had also instituted incentive packages to motivate teachers in the school.
