Three media houses in Tema honoured

Tema, March 14, GNA - Three Media Houses were at the weekend honoured by the Tema Achievers Excellence Awards Foundation (TAEAF), for their dedicated and meritorious services towards the development of the Metropolis.

The three Press Houses, Obonu FM, TV Three, Adom FM, as well as, 22 personalities and corporate organisations were honoured by the Foundation.

Two distinguished personalities, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) John Kudalor, Director in charge of Operations, of the Ghana Police Service, and Mr Austin Akuffo Gamey, former Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Welfare, also received awards. Tanink Automobile Limited, Gilead Herbal Clinic, and Nyaniba Health Assistant Training School, were among institutions awarded at the function. Each of the Awardees was presented with a Citation and a Certificate of Honour. The programme dubbed: The Second Edition of the Tema Excellence Awards," was graced by family members, friends, and well-wishers of the recipients. This year's event was an improvement on the maiden one, held last year by the Foundation, which saw 15 personalities and institutions receiving awards.

Outlining the rationale behind the Awards Scheme, Mr Kwasi Poku-Bosompem, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, explained that the scheme was designed to honour excellent inhabitants of Tema, as well as others, who by dint of hard work, had been a blessing and honour to Tema.

Mr Poku-Bosompem said the Excellence Awards target professionals of corporate establishments, companies, traditional authorities and other individuals with exceptional achievements. The end result, he said, 93is to create some level of intelligence, integrity and professional approach, and cause corporate establishments, professionals, and others, to live up to the social responsibilities and commitments to the Metropolis." The awardees thanked the Foundation for the honour done them, and hoped the gesture would motivate others to excel in their various fields of endeavour to merit future awards.
