Three Tikobo No. One accident victims identified

Half Assini (W/R) July 2, GNA - Three of the four persons who died in the fatal lorry accident at Tikobo No. One in the Jomoro District in the Western Region on Thursday have been identified. They are Mr K. Azanechie from Ahobre Kpole, Mr Ransford Armah Ofori and his wife, Madam Victoria Ofori, from Aiyinase in the Ellembele District.

Sources at the Half Assini Government Hospital said the forth person, a woman, had not yet been identified because of the nature of injury to her head.

Two people died on the spot and two others on arrival at the Half Assini Government Hospital, when a taxi cab on which they were travelling was involved in an accident near Tikobo No. 1 on Thursday. The driver of the taxi cab, Mr Tayi Ndede, from Allowuley, also died on the spot.

Mr Isaac Ninyani, Senior Nurse in-charge of the Male Ward, told the Ghana News Agency that Mr Emanuel Armah Arthur from Aiyinase and Patrick Kwaw Mensah from Allowuley who were on admission at were responding to treatment.

According to the Tikobo No. One Police, the taxi was travelling from Tikobo No. One to Aiyinase in the Ellembele District at about 2000 hours when it had a head-on collision with a heavy duty truck at kpokezo near Tikobo No. one. 02 July 11
