Three Akrofuom SECTECH students suspended

Akrofuom (Ash), Dec. 16, GNA - The Board of Governors of the Akrofuom Secondary/Technical School in the Adansi West District has approved the suspension of three second year students of the school pending further investigations into their conduct. Preliminary investigations conducted by the school authorities identified the three students as having been involved in smearing of the school black boards, teachers' tables, desks and walls of two classrooms with human excreta.

The students are George Asirifi, Alex Agyapong and Paul Nkansah. Addressing the students' on the decision, Mr Ben N. Fosu, Chairman of the Board, told the students that on no account would acts of indiscipline from students be entertained.

"The board told you on the day of its inauguration that acts of indiscipline are removed from this school's dictionary," he said. Mr Fosu expressed serious view of the behaviour of the students and remarked, "it is sad for you students to besmear your classrooms with faeces."

The board, he said, would not tolerate such behaviour and that any student or students who intended to repeat such acts should better leave the school.

"We will prefer 10 well-behaved students in this school than a multitude of unruly students," Mr Fosu stressed.

The Board Chairman, who is a prominent citizen of Akrofuom, warned the students who have started threatening their colleagues who gave evidence during the preliminary investigations that they would be handed over to the police if caught.

The form two students, the board was told became angered over the decision of the school's administration to swap their classrooms with form one because the enrolment in form one was large.
