Thirty-four SHS in Ashanti Region receive buses

Kumasi, July 25, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister, has said that government would provide the needed infrastructure and other facilities to enhance teaching and learning at all levels of education. He noted that the institution of the school feeding programme, capitation grant and free bus ride for pupils were to ensure quality education was not only free but also accessible to all school-going age children.

Mr Owusu-Ansah said this when he presented keys to 34 buses to Senior High Schools (SHS) in Kumasi on Thursday. The Regional Minister reiterated that SHS education would be free when the NPP government is retained in office after the December general elections.

He advised the beneficiary schools to take good care of the buses. Mr Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, Atwima-Mponua District Chief Executive, who received the keys on behalf of the schools, noted that they would immensely improve academic output in schools sited in the rural areas.
