Tamale MCE pledges more attention to the growth of businesses

Tamale, April 22, GNA - Alhaji Abdulai Haruna Friday, Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive has pledged to provide the needed attention to the growth of businesses in the metropolis. He said people in the Northern Region were conscious to undertake economic ventures to improve their living standards therefore, should be encouraged to ensure the continuous growth of businesses in the metropolis.

Alhaji Friday made the pledge in Tamale on Wednesday after his unanimous confirmation. "Let me use this opportunity to assure the business community that my administration would give the deserved attention to the growth of business in the metropolis," he said.

He noted that there had been rapid growth of economic activities within the Ghanaian society therefore, his administration would initiate constant interaction with the people to exchange ideas to advance entrepreneurship in the metropolis.

Speaking to GNA in an interview, Alhaji Friday said he would run an administration based on consensus building to ensure the development agenda of the metropolis moved forward. He pledged to work closely with opinion leaders as well as religious leaders to promote peace to ensure the numerous confrontations in the metropolis were solved.

Alhaji Friday expressed gratitude to President John Evans Atta Mills for his nomination and the assembly for the approval. He called on them to unite and offer useful suggestions towards the socio-economic development of the metropolis.
