Sixty-four pass out from Nerebehi ICCES

Nerebehi (Ash), Aug 4, GNA - Sixty-four young people made up of 35 regular students and 29 students of the Skills Training for Employable Programme (STEP) have passed out from the Nerebehi Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES).

They were taught carpentry, joinery, catering, dressmaking, batik tie and dye, soap making, pomade and powder soap making.

Mrs Comfort Wireko-Brobbey, the Executive Director of Bibiani Lumber and Logging Company Limited, lauded the Government's effort to combating youth unemployment and the rural-urban drift through training schemes.

Mr Robert Yaw Bah, Manager of the Centre, said analysis of the 2003 National Vocational Training Institute's (NVTI) Examination showed a remarkable improvement in the performance of trainees.

The Centre scored 89 per cent in the 2003 examination as against 78 per cent in 2002.
