Site 17 residents issue ultimatum to ECG

Residents at site 17 of Community One in Tema have called on the government to correct the anomalies in the provision of utility services.

"We call on His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to institute a National Media Task Force, to expose anomalies of utility related public services."

This was contained in a communiqué issued by Mr Lord Koranteng Hamah, Chairman of the Site 17 Residents Welfare Association.

The communiqué said site 17 was bedeviled with sewerage and electricity problems.

"The site 17 community is completely engulfed in stench, and on the brink of a cholera out-break. Most of the homes have to endure the discomfort of out-flowing human excreta."

It said the electrical system within the community also needed a re-examination in order to prevent possible fire outbreaks.

"We wish to issue a one-week ultimatum to the Electricity Company of Ghana and the Tema Metropolitan Assembly with regards to matters raised here. If the problems persist, we would advise ourselves accordingly," the communiqué said.
