Second batch of students graduate at EP University College

The E.P. University College held its second congregation in Ho on Saturday at which 41 graduates were presented with their certificates in Bachelor of Science Business (BSC) Administration, Accounting and Finance, Agribusiness and Marketing.

Mr. Ennison Ebenezer and Mrs. Angela Adobea Crabbe both had First Class in Business Administration-Accounting and Finance, with Mr. Johnny Charles Adokor also obtaining First Class in Agribusiness.

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, Vice Chancellor, University of Cape Coast, appealed to stakeholders in the EPUC to support it to meet its infrastructure requirements and retain qualified staff and also establish more schools and Programmes.

She said as the mentor University, the UCC “will continue to guide the E.P. University College on the right path to attain her charter in the shortest possible time.”

She said “it is equally important that the EP University College Management undertakes measures to establish appropriate structures such as Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Unit” as required by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).

Professor Opoku-Agyeman asked the EPUC management to ensure that its “admission or entry qualification” must conform to those prescribed by the National Council on Tertiary Education (NCTE) and the National Accreditation Board (NAB), “to avoid being the headlines for newspapers.”

She also advised the EPUC to link up with industry and others who engage its graduates towards improving its curricula for relevance, adding that “credible tracer studies must also be undertaken, since the university has started producing graduates.”

She urged the graduates to “strive to propagate the knowledge, skills and values that you gained at the E.P. University College, and shine as light in your workplaces and communities.”

Professor Opoku-Agyeman reminded the graduates to show gratitude to those whose sacrifices catapulted them to their attainments and urged the graduates to make the best of the status they have attained as "your gift to God.”

President of the EPUC, Reverend Dr. Cyril G.K. Fayose, said the College was working towards adding at least one more School to the current two as required by the NAB to attain a full University status.

He said a quality assurance Unit has also been established to keep, monitor and evaluate the academic records of the College, and extended the College’s appreciation to the congregation of the E.P. Church for their financial support towards the infrastructure development of the College.**
