Schools in Ho are still without teachers

Ho, Nov. 9, GNA - Teachers in the Ho Municipality are yet to return to the classrooms despite the directive from the national leadership of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) to do so. While some basic schools visited by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) remained closed students in second cycle schools were without teachers even though students were seen around.

Some students of OLA Secondary School who were studying privately in the School Library told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that their teachers were not at post.

At the Mawuko Girls Secondary School, students could be seen in groups loitering on the campus while in Mawuli School, some of the students were tidying up the classrooms in anticipation of resumption of classes.

Mr Dan Yorgbe, the Volta Regional Chairman of NAGRAT, told the GNA that members are not yet in school because they are not sure of the directive as reported in the media.

He said the Regional Secretariat would meet its membership Friday to explain the court ruling to them for them to decide their next line of action. 11 Nov 06
