School head clears name over false accusation

The assistant headmaster of Odorgono Senior High School accused of raping an American volunteer posted to the school has gotten judgement against his accuser.

Lawrence Kwasi Korley was arrested sometime in July after the volunteer Miss Artisi Windom told police he raped her.

She reportedly left the country when the trial began.

But lawyers for the headmaster told the court she had absconded and got judgement in favour of their client.

The court also awarded cost against Miss Windom. His lawyers are still pursuing civil suit against the American volunteer and a board member of the school, Joseph Hammond.

The two are facing claims of defamation for spreading what the assistant headmaster’s lawyers say are false accusations against their client.
