Sarikyi Zongo of Ashanti donates to education fund

Kumasi, June 20, GNA - The Sarikyi Zongo of Ashanti, Alhaji Umar Far ouk Saeed, has donated GH¢1,000 to the United Forum for Islamic Affairs Education Fund. It is aimed at boosting the fund to enable it support brilliant but needy Muslim children to acquire education to the higher level. Alhaji Saeed indicated that it was the resolve of the Council of Eld ers of the Zongo community to see to the educational development of the Zongo s to empower the youth. Education, he said, was key to the accelerated socio-economic development of any society and as such, urged well-to-do Muslims to contribute generously to the fund, to give them a bright future. Alhaji Salehu Bomba, Chairman of the Fund, thanked the Sarikyi Zongo

for the gesture, and pledged that the money would be used judiciously to cover more needy Muslim children. He said the Member of Parliament for Manhyia, Dr Matthew Poku Prempe h, has contributed for three brilliant but needy pupils the fund to be given

scholarships.
