SWESBUS PTA commends government for infrastructure development

Agona Swedru, May 12, GNA - The Parent/Teacher Association of the Swedru School of Business has commended the government for providing infrastructure in first and second cycle schools throughout the country to enhance effective teaching and learning.

Making the commendation at the PTA meeting at Agona Swedru, the Association also commended the government for rehabilitatiing roads in the school but called for additional boys' dormitory and classrooms to meet the increasing population of the school.

Addressing the meeting Mr Samuel Afrifa Appiagyei, the Headmaster of the school, said the school lacked accommodation for masters and other staff of the school. He said the school is constructing eight classroom blocks from its internal generated fund (IGF). Mr Appiagyei expressed regret that the school, built many years ago, lacks assembly hall and kitchen while the administrative block constructed with wood has deteriorated.

The Headmaster said the school, supposed to take 1,000 fresh students, was able to admit 701 due to lack of accommodation and appealed to the PTA, the government, Agona West Municipal Assembly, the Old Student Association and donors to come to the aid of the school.
