SIC Pays Insurance Claims To Mossay Pharmacy

The Management of the State Insurance Company (SIC) in Sunyani, has paid a cheque for ¢277, 687,423.00 to Mossay Pharmacy in Sunyani as insurance claims following a fireout break which destroyed almost all drugs and other valuables at the pharmacy last year.

Making the presentation, the Brong Ahafo Regional Manger of the SIC, Mr Ivan Avereyireh, said on October 7, 2006, Mossay Pharmacy was completely burnt and after thorough investigations, the company agreed to pay the insurance claims because Mossay Pharmacy had done the fire policy with SIC. All the insurance documents covering the pharmacy, were burnt to ashes.

The regional manger said though the fire service has mysteriously not been able to detect the cause of the fire oubreak up to date, the insurer decided to go ahead to pay the claims.

The managing director of Mossay Pharmacy, Mr Moses Bennett, thanked the SIC for honouring its promises.He said though the loss was huge, the amount given would go a long way to assist him put the pharmacy into better condition.

An official the KEK Brokers, Mr Evans Annor, urged the public to always keep their insurance documents properly secured to avoid destruction.
