Tema, July 3, GNA - Mr Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has reminded residents of the Metropolis that it was their collective responsibility to keep the environment clean.

Mr Ofosuware was addressing members of the Tema Ministers' Organisation (TMO), a religious group, after they undertook a float dubbed: 93A Clean City Walk," through the principal streets of Tema, to sensitize residents on the need to keep the environment clean.

They carried placards some of which read: 94Tema must be clean;" "Say no to filth;" 93Littering is bad;" 93Stop littering Tema;" "Tema, gateway to cleanliness;" and 93Filth, no way in Tema."

Reverend David Nabegmado, President of TMO, who is also the Senior Pastor of the Community Four branch of the Assemblies of God Church, called on Ghanaians to indulge in habits that would make them health to be able to serve God, the nation, and their families.

Mr George Aguadze, Tema Zonal Manager of Zoomlion, sponsors of the Walk, asked residents of the Metropolis to pay their refuse fees regularly to enable the company to live up to expectation.

Rev. Michael Asenso, General Secretary of TMO, said the group would do everything possible support the various communities in the Metropolis to organize periodic clean-ups and form sanitation and environmental clubs to help keep the city clean.

He asked the TMA to enforce the bye-laws on sanitation to ensure a filth-free city.
