Residents appeal for rehabilitation of Suhum-Dokrochewa road

Dokrochewa(ER), Dec. 12, GNA - Residents from seven communities in Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District, have appealed to authorities of Department of Feeder Road to rehabilitate the Suhum-Dokrochewa feeder road linking the main Suhum-Asamankese highway. They include Tetekasum, Godziase, Kwame Kyere and Oboango. The road used by other farming and fishing communities around River Kua, due to its undulating and slippery nature find it difficult to travel to marketing centres. Mr Mathew Narh, an Opinion Leader at Dokrochewa, making the appeal through Ghana News Agency on Thursday, said several appeals to Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District Assembly for assistance had not been successful.

He said the residents through self-help with hoes, spade and cutlasses tried to maintain the road for vehicles to ply but no major rehabilitation had been undertaken. Mr Narh noted that attempts by some residents to reshape their portions of the road had worsened the situation.
