Reps of professional bodies meet Okudzeto

Representatives of some professional associations in Ghana have held a meeting with Mr Sam Okudzeto, former President of the Association of Recognized Professional Bodies (ARPB) at his residence.

The meeting was on how to strategize towards the revival of the association after a long period of in-activity.

Present at the meeting were Mr Anthony Oppong, Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana, (CIBG), Mr Ebenezer Agbettor, Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP), Messrs Kwabena Agyekum and Mr Dennis Mireku from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).

The rest are Ms Jennifer Akongbota, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Mrs Patience Abladey-Dortey, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Mr Ebenezer Essilefe-Baiden, Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM) and a representative from the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR).

A statement signed by Ebenezer Agbettor for the ARPB said the group decided to have an informal meeting with Mr Okudzeto because he was a former president of the association and had a living institutional memory of the association.

Mr Okudzeto expressed his gratitude to the group for their decision to meet him.

He stressed the importance of having an association of professional bodies in the country, adding that, the only pivot that holds a nation is her professional bodies.

He noted that as a group, the association can contribute efficiently and effectively to national development.

He assured the group that there are no legal impediments in reviving the association since all legal documents and requirements to back the association are intact.
