"Regard voters registration as serious exercise" - Zeideng

Sekondi, March 9, GNA- Mr. Bede Zeideng, deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday advised supporters of the party to regard the forthcoming voters registration, as a serious exercise because it would be "the party's first step to victory" in this year's general election.

He therefore stressed the need for close monitoring of the exercise in order to establish a credible voter's register that would have the confidence of all.

Mr. Zeideng was opening a day's training of trainers programme for party agents in Sekondi.

"If everybody has confidence in the register, there will not be any disputes when we win the December 2004 elections", he said, and advised participants to mobilize supporters and sympathizers of the NDC to register when the exercise begins.

Madam Tabitha Quaye, Western regional vice-chairperson of the NDC said the party would need the services of hardworking and loyal members to help the party to regain power.
