Rainstorm destroys school building at Dromankase

Nkoranza (B/A), June 3, GNA - The five classroom block of Saviour Preparatory School at Dromankase in the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo Region was destroyed by a rainstorm that hit the town last weekend. Pastor Emmanuel Ansah-Damoah, PTA Chairman of the school told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that more than 160 pupils of the school have been displace

He estimated the cost of damage at 100 million cedis. The PTA chairman said the staff and pupils now hold classes under trees, which he said was an unpleasant condition for effective teaching and learning.

Pastor Ansah-Damoah, who is in charge of the Fundamental Baptist Church at Dromankese said parents of his school were fund raising to assist in the reconstruction of the damaged school building. He appealed to the District Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organisation and the Nkoranza District Assembly to support the project.

Pastor Ansah-Damoah also called on individuals and NGOs to consider the plight of the children of the school and assist with relief items.
