Provide science lab for Ekumfi Ahmadiyya - SRC

Essakayir (C/R), Nov. 8, GNA - The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Ekumfi T I Ahmadiyya Secondary School has appealed to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and the Mfantseman District Assembly for a science laboratory for the school. Miss Celestine Sam, Organizer of the SRC, said the VALCO Fund had donated a quantity of science equipment to the school. She said, however, that where to keep them for effective use had become a headache for the school because it did not have a science laboratory.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Ekumfi Essakyir, Miss Sam noted that the students could not use the equipment for practical lessons in the absence of a laboratory.

She expressed gratitude to the VALCO Fund for the donation and appealed for its continued support for the school. Master Nuhu Mohammed, Vice President of the SRC, said the Council had repaired the school's siren, which broken down about a year ago and was mobilising funds to purchase a mower to maintain lawns on the compound.

Master Mohammed Tanko, SRC Treasurer, appealed for an additional dormitory block to cater for the increased enrolment in the past two years.

He commended the Board of Directors under the chairmanship of Professor Kwesi Andam, former Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, for their efforts to ensure quality education in the school.

Master Tanko also praised the headmaster and staff for their hard work and dedication.

Mr Abdul Salam, Senior Housemaster, expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship between the SRC and the staff, which he said had contributed to an atmosphere conducive to teaching and learning.
