Prisons Commander praises Catholic Priest

Kumasi, Aug.15, GNA - Kwame Ackom Gyedu, the Ashanti Regional Prisons Commander, has praised the prison's chaplaincy for the admirable job being done to reform the inmates. He said their gospel ministration had been most helpful in the correctional process.

He singled out for commendation the role of the Very Reverend Father Martin Padi, Head of the Regional Prisons Chaplaincy, for his hard work, passion, commitment and dedication towards assisting the prisoners.

Mr Gyedu was speaking at a special thanksgiving service held to mark 10 years of Rev Father Padi's induction into the priesthood in Kumasi.

He said it was his prayer that God would continue to bless and favour him for his service to humanity.

He used the occasion to invite individuals and organizations to assist government to cater for the prisoners.

The Rev Father Joseph Asante, Priest in-charge of the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in a homily thanked God for using Rev Father Padi to 93bring light to lost souls." He called on all Christians to support him with prayers as he undertakes the difficult task of aiding prisoners to denounce the devil and give their lives to God.
