People of Gbi descent urged to go for Gbidukorza

Accra, Oct 25, GNA - Deiga Togbe Kwadzo Dei XI, Paramount Chief of Peki Traditional Area, and Togbega Gabusu VI, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area and President of the Volta House of Chiefs, have called on citizen of Peki and Hohoe to make this year's Gbidukorza, the 10th anniversary, a memorable one.

A release signed by the Gbidukorza Publicity and Programmes Consultant, Mr Victor Q. Ameyibor said all Gbiviwo of Peki (Gbinyigbe) and Hohoe (Gbidzigbe)as well as tourists and investors were welcomed to this year's Gbidukorza at Peki

In line with the Government's desire to foster unity among citizens permission has been granted to all Civil Servants and all workers in public organizations of Gbi descent to go home and celebrate this year's festival at Peki from October 27 to October 31 2006. =93All are welcome to enjoy tourist attractions, old schools, monuments, cultures, natural spring waters and other pleasures in and around Peki,=94 it said.

The Gbi having been separate from each other for about 300 years, have now come together as one people of the same ancestors called the Gbis.

The commemoration of the Gbidukorza is alternated between Peki (Gbinyigbe) and Hohoe (Gbidzigbe).
