Peki-Avetile citizens asked to register

Accra, March 23, GNA--Citizens of Peki-Avetile in the South Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region have been called upon to register in their numbers to enable them to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming general elections.

Togbe Ayim Ameyibor V, Chief of the town made the call at a fundraising harvest organised by the Accra-Tema branch of Peki-Avetile Union in Accra on Sunday.

He said as a Ghanaian you have every right to participate actively in government policies and programmes and anything short of this would let you lose your citinzenship.

Togbe Ameyibor called on the union members to unite so that they could execute development projects they initiate.

Mr Christian Akporlu, President of the union charged the youth to take up the mantle from the aged and move the nation forward. He advised them to desist from indiscriminate sex in order not to contract the deadly AIDS disease.
