Parents urged to focus on children's education.

Kumasi, Nov. 8, GNA - Miss Regina Owusu, Headteacher of Mmofraturo Junior Secondary School (JSS) in Kumasi, has called on parents to focus their attention on the education of their children. She said the only legacy parents could bequeath to their children in is education since any property could not effectively or personally help them.

Miss Owusu was addressing the School's Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) meeting to help improve the academic performance of the children in Kumasi on Saturday.

The Headteacher said the school scored 100 percent in the 2003 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and commended the teachers for their efforts.

She expressed the hope that the tradition of the school would be maintained.

Miss Owusu urged parents to pay frequent visit to the school to interact with the teachers to know how their children are faring stressing that "it is unfortunate that some parents dump their children in the school and forget to visit them to know of their problems".
