Package for needy pupils in Tinkong

Tinkong (E/R), Nov 2, GNA - The Department of Social Welfare has collaborated with a Ghanaian based American philanthropist, one Mr Baafour, to assist needy but brilliant students of Tinkong SDA Junior High School with some educational package.

The beneficiary students are Francis Manu, Enock Opoku and Joseph Nagateh.

The Akuapem North District Officer of the Department of Social Welfare, Miss Jessie Dzokoto, made this known when she presented note books, exercise books, school uniforms, sandals and mathematical sets to the beneficiary students at Tinkong.

She urged the beneficiary students to use the items judiciously to improve on their academic performance.

The Headmaster of Tinkong SDA Junior High School, Mr Sakyiamah Boateng, commended the philanthropist and appealed to benevolent organizations and non-governmental organization to assist the school that is housed in an abandoned Cocoa Marketing Board building.
