PTA provides 17-classrooms-block to Kofi Adjei SHS

Bamprase (Ash), June 12, GNA - The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Kofi Adjei Senior High School (SHS) at Bamprase, has completed the construction a 17-classrooms-block at a cost of GH¢130,000 for the school.

Mr Paul Nyame-Kwarteng, the headmaster and Nana Nyarko Fordjour, Vice-Chairman of the PTA, who led newsmen to inspect the block at Bamprase in the Kwabre District on Wednesday, said the Association had also spent more than GH¢ 26,000 to construct a fence wall around the school.

From its own resource, Mr Nyame-Kwarteng said, the school has so far invested over GH¢40,000 to construct a GH¢60,000 headmasters bungalow.

He said, the school has also constructed a mechanized borehole at the cost of GH¢1,200 and purchased 120 students iron beds and 200 mono desks at the total cost of GH¢ 16,800.

In addition, the headmaster said the school is constructing a Visual Art block at the cost of GH¢60,000, consisting of an exhibition hall, weaving centre, darkroom, drawing and designing halls as well as a store and three offices.

He announced that, the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) is also constructing a storey girls' dormitory block, expected to be completed next academic year.

The headmaster said the school had cultivated about five hectares oil-palm plantation and cocoa farm intercropped with maize and cassava. Mr Nyame-Kwarteng said some classrooms have been converted into a science laboratory.

He said practical agriculture had been intensified to expose the students to farming.
