Official appeals to BA students to serve their region

Kumasi, Nov. 23, GNA - Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education in Brong-Ahafo has urged members of Brong-Ahafo Students Union (BASU) to serve the region on completion of their studies.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu was delivering a talk on "The role of students in community building" at a meeting of members of the union at the Kumasi campus of the University College of Education.

He called on the students to collaborate with opinion leaders to enhance the development of their respective areas. He advised them to be committed to the promotion of education by ensuring the enrolment and retention of children of school going age in schools in their communities.

The District Director urged the students to organise extra classes in the junior secondary schools to help the students gain admission into second cycle institutions.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu appealed to the union members to take part in school performance appraisal meetings and educate parents to attach importance to the education of their children.
