Obonu Fan Club fetes Children

Tema, Dec. 27, GNA - Members of the Torman Obonu (Weku Kpee) Fan Club at Tema New Town, at the weekend feted school children at their Sixth Children's End-Of-Year Get-Together, at the premises of Obonu FM at Community One in Tema.

The children were treated to food and drinks during the party. Speaking at the function, Mr Coffie Nyadi, Director of Obonu FM, pledged his preparedness to assist the Club to grow, and to achieve set goals.

Mr Nyadi commended its founding fathers for their vision and foresight, and hoped members would co-operate to enable the club to grow from strength to strength.

Nii Tei Adumuah the Second, Appollonia Mantse, urged members of the club to work hard to sustain it. Nii Adumuah, who is also a Patron of the Club, charged parents to let the education of their children be paramount and prime important to them and advised school children to stick to their books.

Nii Adjei Kraku the Second, Tema Mantse, also a Patron of the Club, said children are very important to the nation, and asked parents to invest heavily in the education of their wards, to enable them to grow into responsible citizens.

Mr Emmanuel Quaye, President of the Club, said the Club was founded in 2003 with an initial membership of 12, but had grown over the years to 25 dedicated and committed members. Mr Quaye said the aim of the Club, among others, was to foster unity among members, and help in protecting the customs and traditions of the Gas.
