Northern NDC executives deplore negative comments

The Northern Regional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed regret about the manner in which some individuals speak against the development of the north.

The Committee said the country as a whole deserve balanced development, and this must not be compromised by any people because of their parochial interests and their negative perception about the progress of the north.

A statement issued on Friday by Mr Abdul-Mumin Alhassan Fuseini, Northern Regional Communications Officer of the NDC said: “The NDC has noted with regret some recent unprintable pronouncements from certain individuals who deliberately contort the relevance of the on-going upgrading of the Tamale Airport into an international status.”

The statement said it is sad that some people treat the north as if it is not part of Ghana to deserve equal opportunities that would help address unemployment and arrest the exodus of the youth to the south for nonexistent jobs.

It said the NDC would ignore all comments from political opponents that ought to denigrate the north saying: “When it is time for votes you throng here to convince our people but you don’t need their progress.”
