Nkroful gets a new chief

Nkroful, (W/R) July 3, GNA - A 37-year old educationist has been out-doored at a colourful durbar as the chief of Nkroful in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.

Under the stool name Nana Kwasi Kutuah V, he is known in private life as Mr. Agye Kwaw.

Nana Kwasi Kutuah holds a Master's Degree in Social Development from the University of Ghana, Legon and is former tutor at Silicon International School in Accra.

In his inaugural address, Nana Kutuah appealed to the government to establish an oil and gas university in the Ellembelle District to enable students in the area to pursue courses in Petroleum and other related subjects.

He also advocated the construction of a district hospital, police bungalow, and the upgrading of the road from Nkroful to Talaku-Bukazzo.

The newly enstooled chief assured the other chiefs and the people of the Nkroful Traditional Area that he would operate a transparent system of governance.

"I will welcome everybody's ideas and suggestions because my doors are always open, therefore, feel free to approach me with issues that will ensure the accelerated socio-economic development of the area," he declared.

In this regard, he explained, a Youth Representative Council would be established to empower the youth to speak their minds and be part in the decision-making process.

Nana Kutuah said his administration would focus on education and the sustenance of peace, harmony and unity and charged his subjects to rally behind him in accelerating development.

He pledged to source for more funds into the Nkroful Educational Endowment Fund, established by the Ellembelle District Assembly, to support students in the area to pursue higher education.

"I will ensure that the Educational Endowment Fund is utilized to support students in the area because we have great potentials in this area and since Nkroful is the birth place of Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, there are other people in the area who can follow his foot steps to achieve great laurels for our dear nation," he said.

Nana Kutuah pledged to work in tandem with the district assembly,security agencies, religious groups, corporate organizations and all stakeholders towards the progress of the area and the protection of the environment.
