Nkoranza chief solicits support, respect for chiefs

Nkoranza (B/A), June 12, GNA - Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom IV, Omanhene of Nkoranza traditional area, has urged the people to respect and support traditional authorities to enhance the development of their areas.

Okatakyie Kudom, who is also President of the Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, was addressing elders and divisional chiefs of Busunya who paid a courtesy call on him to introduce a newly installed queen mother of the area, Nana Abrafi Amponsa Danso II.

He described traditional rulers as servants of God entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of the people and must be accorded respect and support for peace and tranquillity to prevail. The Omanhene called on assembly and unit committee members, as well as religious leaders, to collaborate with traditional authorities to help improve the living conditions of the people.

He also urged queen mothers to help promote love, unity, peace and understanding among the people.

Nana Abrafi expressed gratitude to the Omanhene and his elders for accepting her and pledged to work with them to move the area forward. She appealed to the people to support her and offer advice when necessary so she could perform to their expectation.

The queen mother identified girl-child education as her priority and promised to encourage parents to provide their daughters with their basic educational needs to make them feel happy at school. Nana Okofo Nyarko Gyabaah II, chief of Busunya gave the assurance that the elders of the area would not relent in efforts at offering the necessary advice to the queen mother.
