Ngmonlobiawerh divisional clan of Ada donates to Dangme East Hospital

Faithkorpey-Ada, Jan. 04, GNA -- The Ngmongmlobiawerh divisional clan of Ada Traditional area has donated items worth over 11 million cedis to the Dangme East Hospital.

The items included 18 bags of rice, provisions, loaves of bread and some fruits. According to Nene Narnor Tettey Ga IV, Chief of Ada the donation forms part of the celebration of his 18 years of ruling as a chief and hoped the items would be put to good use to alleviate some of the problems of the hospital.

Ms Edith Doku, Deputy Director of Nursing Services, received the items on behalf of the hospital and thanked the chief for the gesture. The Dangme East District Director of Health Services, Dr Justice Addotey Holfman, in a short address announced that from January 2007, all the five health centres in the district would be used for the treatment of malaria and TB cases and added that the District Hospital would also be use as a point for distribution of the Anti retroviral drugs.

He said treated mosquito net has also been subsidized to a very low cost to ensure that all rural folks have access to it5 and advised mothers on the need for children to sleep in the nets to avoid getting malaria.

Dr Phillip Narh, a Senior Medical Officer of the hospital mentioned accommodation for staff as a major problem facing them and called on individuals and Non-Governmental Organisations to come to their aid.
