New chief enthroned for the people of Pruso

Nkoranza (B/A), July 28, GNA - Residents of Pruso, a farming community in the Nkoranza South District have installed a new chief under the stool name Nana Bofour Kyerekwa III. Known in private life as Mr. Frank Kwasi Boakye, Nana Bofour Kyerekwan, 32, is currently based in Spain and succeeds his uncle, Nana Yaw, who abdicated the seat a year ago.

At a ceremony to outdoor him at the Omanhene's Palace on Monday, the Adontehene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, who is also caretaker of Pruso, Nana Okofo Agyapong III, urged the entire community to support the new chief so that together they can move the area forward. Nana Okofo Agyapong advised the new chief to be very modest as he has become a role model in the community in order to maintain the trust and confidence the people have reposed in him.

Nana Yaa Dudaa Kani, Queenmother of the Nkoranza Traditional Area and the Nifahene of Nkoranza Nana Kwabena Tetteh, as well as the Chief's Linguist, Nana Osei, witnessed the event on behalf of the Omanhene of Nkoranza, Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom IV. The queenmother stressed the need for elders of the community to support the chief and guide him so that he would perform to the expectations of the people.

The Nifahene, Nana Kwabena Tetteh also advised the new chief to abide by regulations governing the chieftaincy institution and respect the Omanhene and all other chiefs so that he would establish a healthy relationship between him and all other chiefs. Speaking to newsmen later, Nana Bofour Kyerekwan said he would promote education among the youth in the area and also initiate income generating activities to improve the livelihood of the unemployed youth. He called on the people to live in unity, peace and understanding, so that together they can move Pruso forward for the benefit of the next generation.
