New Education Reform is a process- Agyeman-Badu

Dotobaa (B/A), June 11, GNA- The New Education Reform programme is a process and not an event and teachers must exercise restraint and work towards its and successful implementation. Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, gave the advice at a meeting with teachers of the district assembly primary and junior high schools at Dotobaa in Nkoranza South District. Reacting to a complaint about the lack of computers in the schools by the teachers who were expected to teach Information Communication and Technology (ICT), the District Director of Education gave the assurance that government would equip all schools with the facility. He advised teachers to update their knowledge by taking part in the Teachers' Top-Up programmes and other in-service training to be able to face the challenges of the reform.

Mr. Agyemang-Badu commended the teachers for assisting in planting trees on their school compounds to beautify the environment and to protect structures against rainstorms. He expressed his displeasure about the inability of the people and school authorities to maintain educational structures. Mr. Agyemang-Badu called on the school management committee, unit committee and people to collaborate efforts to rehabilitate school infrastructure.

He handed over keys to a staff bungalow constructed by the Nkoranza District Assembly to be occupied by six teachers. Mr. Agyemang-Badu commended the assembly for providing the facility and called on the beneficiary teachers to maintain it regularly.
