Nasara club cautions Zongo communities to be wary of NDC tactics

Kumasi, Feb 22, GNA - Youth wing of the Nasara Club of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has cautioned Zongo communities to be wary of the rough tactics being adopted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to jeopardise the chances of the NPP winning this year's elections.

Mr Salihu Yahaya Bo-Anami, Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator of the youth wing of the Club, said one of the tactics was the peddling of unsubstantiated allegations that the NPP was working to get some youth leaders of the NDC at the Zongos to join the NPP.

Speaking at a meeting of the club in Kumasi on Saturday to brainstorm on ways of enhancing the party's chances at the elections, he asked the party's supporters at the Zongos to be on the look out for false propaganda.

"Let me remind you of the allegation during the 2000 elections adopted by the NDC to the effect that the NPP will repatriate some perceived foreigners within the Zongo communities when voted to power". However, Mr Bo-Anami said, developments that followed after the NPP's victory in the elections have proved all these allegations to be false and without substance.

"As the nation gears towards another elections, they will be at it again and I therefore entreat all NPP supporters at the Zongos to be on the look out constantly".

Mr Bo-Anami cautioned the media to be circumspect in their reportage on national issues so as to sustain the peace the country was currently enjoying.

He was not happy about some media practitioners taking sides in their reportage and during discussions on radio stations instead of being dispassionate on national issues.
