Nabdams resident in Bolga discuss development

Bolgatanga, Aug 18, GNA - Nabdam constituents living in Bolgatanga at the weekend met to discuss modalities involved in the creation of the Nabdam-Talensi constituency.

The discussion centred on their contribution to ensure that the district promised them by President John Agyekum Kufuor during his maiden working visit to the region gets a smooth take off.

Addressing them the Director of the National Service Scheme, Mr. Boniface Gambila, reminded the people of their stake in the socio-economic development of the area and said, "living outside the constituency does not debar you from contributing towards its development." He said the exercise of individual franchise is a pre-requisite for the political growth of the area and said most Nabdams were habitual travellers who rarely stayed at home. Mr Gambila called on the people to show their commitment and preparedness for the district by registering to vote in the constituency.

He said voting is the only right that an individual has for determining the fate of any sitting government, adding that if they all vote outside the constituency it affects the data for the development of the area.
